1.1. Operational safety
Before using this product, please carefully read the safety information and operating instructions, strictly adhere to the operating guidelines to ensure that the device is in normal working condition.
1.1.1 Before using the device, please carefully inspect its appearance to ensure it’s intact.
1.1.2 Keep the work area clean, and don’t move the device after it has started operating.
1.1.3 Please refer to this manual to securely fix the laser main unit, preventing it from being placed unstably and potentially falling.
1.1.4 To ensure the safety and optimal performance of the device, please use the original power adapter and data cable.
1.1.5 Please prepare a stable and level desk or workbench to use the device.
1.1.6 Do not operate the device under fatigue.
1.1.7 The operating environment temperature of the device should be stable between 10℃ and 30℃.
1.2 Safety protection
This device has the following safety protection functions to ensure safe use, and please wear goggles to prevent laser injury to your eyes.
1.2.1 The laser protective cover must be properly installed, otherwise the alarm system will be triggered and the device will not work.
1.2.2 The device is equipped with the position sensor. If the device moves during operation, it will automatically trigger an alarm and stop working to prevent laser injury to the operator.
1.2.3 The device is equipped with a high-temperature alarm. If the laser works at an excessively high temperature, it will automatically trigger the alarm, and the device will stop working to prevent machine damage.
1.2.4 The device is equipped with the galvo motor alarm sensor. If there is an abnormality with the motor, the alarm will be triggered automatically, and the device will stop working to prevent a fire.
1.3 Safety warning
Due to the inherent dangers of lasers, please strictly adhere to the following principles.
1.3.1 Please don’t allow minors and individuals lacking self-protection awareness to use or approach the device while it’s operating.
1.3.1 Please don’t direct the laser at people, animals, or any flammable objects.
1.3.1 Minors must be supervised by their parents when operating.
1.4 Fire safety
Ensure that the workplace is well-ventilated to promptly expel any generated smoke.
1.4.1 Don’t pile flammable materials (especially organic materials like paper) around the device, as this may lead to the spread of flames and increase the risk of materials catching fire.
1.4.2 The device must be watched while it is working.
1.4.3 Regularly clean the device, as excessive buildup of residues and debris from engraving will increase fire risk.
1.4.4 When cutting or engraving flammable materials at low speed and high power, the materials is easily ignited to form a flame. If a flame occurs, please immediately cut off the power and take fire extinguishing measures.
1.5 Material safety
1.5.1 Don’t engrave or cut flammable, explosive, or materials of unknown properties.
1.5.2 Recommended materials: wood, bamboo slats, leather, PVC, paper, glass (painted black), and non-reflective coated materials.
1.5.3 Not recommended materials: metals, transparent materials, reflective materials, etc.
1.1 Install the laser shield.
1.2 Connect the power supply of the laser host and connect the USB_1 port of the laser host and the smoke exhaust fan with the data cable; that is, the installation is successful.
Scenario 2: With lifting platform mode
2.1 Assemble the lifting platform: use 4 screws to assemble the fixed seat and lifting column, and use 4 screws to assemble the lifting column and lifting platform, i.e., the assembly is successful.
2.2 Install the laser host with laser shield.
2.3 Open the fixed seat, put in the laser host, and fix the laser host on the fixed seat;
2.4 Connect the power supply and use the data cable to connect the USB_1 port of the laser mainframe with the smoke exhaust fan and the lifting platform.
2.5 When the focus can be adjusted by the elevation knob, the installation is successful.
Scenario 3: Rotating Platform - Cylindrical Mode
3.1 The accessories of the rotary platform are the rotary platform, rotary support accessories, flat support accessories, and data cable.
3.2 Setting up the [Rotary Engraving] mode:
3.2.1 Adjust the gear:
When the diameter of the engraved object is 8-42mm, please adjust the roller to B gear.
When the diameter of the engraved object is 42-90mm, please adjust the roller to A gear.
*Gear setting reference: Take adjusting gear B to gear A as an example.
Remove the fixing screws of gear B roller support, pull out the roller, and insert it into gear A. Please align the slot of the gear when inserting and reinstall the screws.
3.2.2 APP Setting Engraving Mode: Open APP-Canvas-Bottom Menu-Canvas Setting, set the processing mode to [Rotary Mode], and enter the diameter of the cylinder.
3.3 CONNECTION: Use the data cable to connect the rotary platform and the laser host, and the status indicator will become white and always on after successful connection.
3.4 Placement: Place the rotary platform on the engraving platform, level with the lifting platform. (For details, please refer to the instruction manual of the rotary platform.) *When the cylinder is too long or irregular for placement, please add the rotary support fittings to support the cylinder and make sure the rotary support fittings are perpendicular to the roller axis.
Scenario 4: Rotary platform-sliding table mode (long format flatbed)
4.1 Setting the [Sliding Table Engraving] Mode:
4.1.1 Adjust the gear:
Please adjust the rotary axis to gear B. You can refer to the setting of scene 3-3.2.1;
4.1.2 APP setup engraving mode:
Open APP-Canvas-Bottom Menu-Canvas Setting, set the processing mode to [Slide Table Mode], and input the length of the flatbed.
4.2 CONNECTION: Use the data cable to connect the rotary platform and the laser host, and the status indicator will become white and always on after successful connection;
4.3 Placement: Place the rotary platform on the engraving platform so that it is level with the lifting platform. (Specifically refer to the instructions of the rotary platform.)
Place the flat support fittings on both sides of the rotary axis and make sure that the flat support fittings are parallel to the roller axis.
*The reference size of the long flat plate is within 100*300mm; if it exceeds the reference size, it is recommended to purchase additional flat plate support fittings as required.
After powering on, the switch button indicator light will turn on.
2. The device is powered off. Press and hold the switch button for 3 seconds to power it on. The indicator light turns white, the screen lights up, and the buzzer sounds.
3.In preview status, click the switch button to cancel the preview.
4.In the engraving state, click the switch button to pause engraving. When you click the button again, the device will continue the previous engraving task.
5.In the alarm state, click the button to stop the buzzer and return to the idle state of the device.
6.In the power-on standby state, double-click the button continuously to enter the handheld engraving mode, and the buzzer sounds once.
7.In handheld mode, click the switch button to start engraving.
8.Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn off the machine. The indicator light and screen will go out.When the laser temperature drops to a certain level, the laser fan will be turned off.

3. After opening the APP and logging in to your account, the [Quick Connection] page will pop up automatically, click [Connect].

Wi-Fi connection (Wi-Fi connection is recommended for faster file transfer)
1. In the app, click the "Add Device" button to enter the connection interface, select "Wi-Fi AP," and click the "Add Device" button to enter the Wi-Fi configuration interface.
2. Select the device you want to connect to, then configure your router's Wi-Fi SSID and password, and click the "Configure for the device" button to return to the connection interface.
3. In the connection interface, click the "Start Scanning" button to search for the device. After selecting the device to be connected, it will automatically connect. Once connected successfully, the indicator light will turn solid blue.
To connect to WiFi again, just click [Home] - [Add Device] - [WiFi AP] - [Start Scan]. When the device name appears, click [Connect] to connect.

Parameter related
1. Bitmap engraving:
Also called dot matrix engraving. It is engraving based on a bitmap (an image composed of pixels).
Suitable for engraving some images with grayscale changes, etc.
Bitmap engraving controls the output intensity of the laser according to the grayscale value of the pixel of the image, so as to present different shades of effects on the material.
Therefore, the higher the grayscale contrast of the bitmap, the easier it is to engrave.
For example, if you want to engrave a photo of a person on a wooden board, you need to use bitmap engraving technology to show the light and dark changes of the person's face.
2. Vector engraving:
A linear engraving method that engraves according to the vector path of the graphic.
The laser engraves along a precise path, such as a line, which can produce clear and sharp lines and shapes.
This engraving method is suitable for making trademarks, text, pattern outlines, etc.
For example, engraving a logo on a cup using vector engraving can accurately restore the shape and line details of the logo.
Applicable scenarios: cutting, line engraving, precise contour processing of text or simple graphics (such as wood/cardboard cutting, glass (blackening) engraving, etc.).
3. Laser power:
Refers to the energy output of the laser beam. Laser power is one of the key factors affecting the engraving effect.
The higher the laser power, the deeper the engraving effect and the clearer the effect.
However, excessive power may also cause undesirable phenomena such as excessive melting and carbonization of the material.
4. Engraving speed:
Refers to the speed at which the laser moves on the surface of the material for engraving, in millimeters per second (mm/s).
The engraving speed and laser power work together to achieve the ideal engraving effect.
The faster the engraving speed, the shorter the time for the laser to interact with the material, the shallower the engraving effect, which may cause unclear engraving.
The slower the speed, the deeper the engraving effect, but the material may be heated for too long, resulting in damage to the surface of the material.
5. Dotting time:
The time the laser beam stays at a certain point on the engraved material, that is, the time the laser acts on each point of the material, in μs.
6.DPI
DPI is the abbreviation of "Dots Per Inch", which means dots per inch.
In the field of laser engraving, it represents the engraving accuracy, that is, the number of dots that can be engraved per inch. For example, 300DPI means that 300 dots can be engraved in one inch.
7. Engraving times:
Engraving multiple times can achieve a three-dimensional effect by increasing the depth.
It can be adjusted according to the material characteristics to ensure that different materials reach the expected depth.
Improve precision: multiple engravings can average out errors, making the lines smoother and the patterns more accurate.
Ensure quality: Enough times can avoid incomplete engraving, ensure the integrity of the pattern, and disperse energy, reduce heat effects, and prevent material damage.

You can use the material package we provide to test the engraving effect.
If you use the official material package, please directly refer to the corresponding material preset parameters on the APP-Engraving-[Set Parameters] page.
Due to factors such as material and density, the engraving parameters applicable to the same material may also be different.
If you want to engrave non-official materials, it is recommended to fine-tune or customize the parameter settings based on the preset parameters of the same type of material.
At the same time, it is recommended to use scraps of the same material for engraving tests to ensure the effect is correct before performing formal engraving.
1. Bitmap-Parameter adjustment:
The higher the [Power], the deeper the engraving, and vice versa. It is recommended to increase/decrease 5% based on the preset parameters.
The longer the [Dotting Time], the deeper the engraving depth, and vice versa. It is recommended to increase/decrease 20 based on the preset parameters.
The higher the [DPI], the higher the engraving accuracy, which can achieve higher resolution and finer engraving details.
When engraving a 2.5D/relief bitmap, it is recommended to set [Low Power, Multiple Engraving] appropriately to achieve a three-dimensional effect.
2. Vector-parameter adjustment:
The higher the [Power], the deeper the engraving, and vice versa. It is recommended to increase/decrease 5% based on the preset parameters for gradual adjustment.
The lower (slower) the [Speed], the deeper the engraving, and vice versa. It is recommended to increase/decrease 20mm/s based on the preset parameters for gradual adjustment.
3. [Number of engravings]:
When engraving is completed, if you find that the engraved pattern is incomplete/too shallow, please do not move the equipment and materials!
Please enter [Number of engravings] on the [Engraving completed] page - click - [Engrave again] until the engraved pattern meets your expectations.

Recommended materials: wood, bamboo slats, leather, PVC, paper, glass (painted black), and non-reflective coated materials.

Currently, the SL2 device supports engraving of the above materials, covering most material types.
If you want to engrave other special materials, you can submit questions in [My] - [Settings] - [Feedback], and our staff will feedback whether it can be engraved within 2-3 working days.
Don't engrave special materials by yourself to prevent accidents or damage to the equipment!

Device operation
Normal engraving refers to engraving only under the engraving main engine
(If you need to use the elevating platform/rotating platform, please check [Notes on different modes])
1. Power-on.
After powering on, the switch button indicator light will turn on. Press and hold the switch button for more than 3 seconds until the display screen lights up and the indicator light turns blue, indicating successful power-on.
2. Connect the device.
Click the APP homepage - [Add device] - [Connect];
Detailed steps can be found in FAQ - [Device connection].
3. Engraving material selection and placement.
Select the material you want to engrave and place it within the area covered by the laser protective cover.
4. Engraving content selection
The app offers a wide range of creative materials. You can choose AI creation, gift customization shows, and other
various material types. After creation, you can import them onto the canvas for editing or further creation
5. Engraving parameter settings
After the creation in the canvas, click [Next] to go to the parameter setting interface.
You can use thepre-set engraving parameters in our system, or customize the engraving parameters, or adjust the pre-set parameters.
(Due to differences in material, density, and moisture, the preset parameters are experimental parameters for reference only)
6. Focus.
Please make sure that the engraving surface and the bottom surface of the laser shield are horizontally coincident or make sure that the distance between the bottom surface of the laser main unit and the engraved object is maintained at 117mm.
7. Preview positioning.
After setting the parameters, click the preview for engraving button on the app.
The device will display a preview in the engraving area based on the maximum border of the created material. You can move the engraved object or adjust the material's position and size on the app to ensure it fits within the preview area. At this time, the status indicator light will flash green.
8.Start engraving (don’t move the device or the engraving object during the engraving process)
After confirming that the positioning and focusing are correct, click kthe "Cancel Preview" button on the app.Then click the "Start Engraving" to engrave. At this time, the indicator light will turn solid green.
9. Pause and resume.
In engraving mode, press the switch button or click the "Pause Engraving" button on the app to pause the engraving.
Press the switch button again or click the "Resume Engraving" button on the app to resume engraving. While paused, the indicator light will flash green.
10. Engraving completion.
When the engraving progress bar shows 100%, it indicates that the engraving is completeed. At this time, the indicator light will turn solid blue.
11. Power-off.
Press and hold the switch button for 3s to will off,the indicator light and display screen.
1. Handheld:
If you want to use handheld engraving, please click [Home]-[Device] - turn on [Handheld Mode].
Please remember to turn off [Handheld Mode] when you don't need to use it.
2.Transfer files:
After clicking [Start Engraving], the system will first upload the pattern file to the device and then start engraving.
If the file transfer is too slow, it is recommended that you clickclick [Home]-[Device]-change the mode to [Engraving while transmitting]. This can effectively improve engraving efficiency and reduce waiting time.
3.During the laser engraving process, please be sure to keep the device and the object being engraved stable to avoid any movement or shaking.
4.It's strictly forbidden to leave the equipment unattended while it is working.
Special attention: When using low-speed high-power mode to carve flammable materials such as wood and leather, the materials are easily ignited.
If an open fire occurs, please cut off the power supply immediately and use a fire extinguisher to deal with it. Do not pour water directly.
5.After engraving is completed, please don't rush to remove the work. It is recommended to check the effect after it is left to stand.
If the pattern is too shallow, you can directly click [Engrave Again] on the [Engraving Completed] page to overlay the effect.
Or return to adjust the power/speed parameters (single adjustment is recommended not to exceed 5%) and then re-engraving.
For fine patterns, it is recommended to test the scraps of the same material.
6.Emergency preparation: Always have goggles. Keep ventilation. In case of emergency, press and hold the [Emergency Stop Button] for 3 seconds to force shutdown.

1.Laser light outlet maintenance: The surface of the light outlet is prone to dust or dirt accumulation, which will affect the engraving effect. In severe cases, it may lead to laser loss or lens damage. Please clean it promptly with a lint-free cloth.
2.Lifting axis lubrication: If the lifting axis movement becomes less smooth, open the cover and apply lubricant to the bearings.
3.Smoke exhaust fan dust removal: The smoke exhaust fan is prone to dust accumulation and needs regular cleaning. Otherwise, it will affect the smoke extraction and engraving performance.
4.The cooling air inlet and outlet should be cleaned regularly to avoid blockages, which could affect heat dissipation.
5. Cleaning of the protective cover: The surface inside the protective cover is prone to dust accumulation, which will affect the engraving effect during the engraving process. Please wipe the inside of the protective cover with a cleaning cloth regularly to keep the protective cover clean and visible.

1.1 Setting [Handheld Mode]:
Please click APP homepage-device to open [Handheld Mode] after [Connect Device] step.
* Please turn off [Handheld Mode] when you don't need to use Handheld Mode subsequently.
1.2 When you [start engraving], please double-click the switch button of the device to turn on engraving.
2. Lifting mode:
2.1 Please set [Lift Mode] before [Power On]:
Please refer to [FAQ]-[Equipment Installation]-[Equipment Installation and Placement] to assemble and place the lifting platform.
2.2 When [Focus Setting], please use the lift knob to adjust the focus to make sure that the engraving surface and the bottom surface of the laser shield are horizontally coincident, or make sure that the distance between the bottom surface of the laser mainframe and the engraved object is kept at 117mm.
3. Rotary mode:
3.1 Please set the [Rotary/Slide Mode] before [Power On]:
Please refer to [FAQ]-[Equipment Installation]-[Equipment Installation and Placement] , or [Rotary Platform Instruction Manual] to assemble and place the rotary platform.
3.2 【Focus Setting】 Please use the lift knob to adjust the focus to make sure the engraving surface is horizontally coincident with the bottom surface of the laser shield or to make sure the distance between the bottom surface of the laser main unit and the engraved object is kept at 117mm.
3.2 When [Preview] is positioned, the preview light of [Rotary/Slide Mode] shows the maximum width of the engraving range in vertical lines.
3.3 When [Start Engraving], the item is rotated/slid to the left.
01. Purchase the gift.
02. Place and focus the gift:
Place the gift on the engraving/rotating platform and focus it to ensure that the engraved side of the item is horizontally coincident with the bottom surface of the laser shield.
03. One-Click Use:
Click the [One-Click Use] button on the [App-Gift Show-Gift Details] page to import the pattern to the canvas.
04. Pattern Adjustment:
After you can adjust the size/position of the pattern within the canvas, click [Next] in the upper right corner to enter the [Parameter Setting] page.
05. Positioning Preview:
After entering the [Parameter Settings] page, please click [Preview] at the bottom directly without modifying the engraving parameters.

06. Start engraving:
After determining the positioning, click the [Engraving] button at the bottom to enter the [Engraving] page, and click [Start Engraving] to start engraving.
Abnormal alarm processing
After 5s, the alarm will be automatically cleared.
After the alarm is cleared, please restart the engraving and ensure that the device is not moved or tilted during the engraving process..
Reattach the laser protective cover to the main unit. The alarm will be automatically cleared once reattached. Please restart the engraving process.
The alarm will automatically be lifted after the device temperature drops to normal.Please ensure that the coolingair inlet and outlet are unobstructed. It is recommended to restart the engraving process in a normal working temperature environment..

Two ways to use:

2. When designing a pattern in the canvas, click the bottom menu [AI Retouch] to edit the pattern.

Pattern materials
There are 3 ways to obtain engraving patterns, as follows:
1. Click [AI Creation]-[AI Paint], enter the description of the picture you want to generate, and AI will automatically generate the picture for you.
2. Shared material library: Click [Home]-[Shared Vector]/[Shared Bitmap]/[Custom Template], select the material you want, and click [One-click Use].
3. Local material: Click [Home]-[Album]/[File] to upload pictures from your mobile phone album, svg files and other patterns.
After successfully importing the pattern into the canvas, you can use AI retouch, filter adjustment, color adjustment, and cropping functions to optimize the pattern through the bottom menu bar.

1. Vector pattern material:
Applicable scenarios:
Cutting, line engraving, precise contour processing of text or simple graphics (such as cardboard cutting, glass (blackening) engraving, etc.).
Pattern requirements:
Usually composed of multiple lines, the lines are clear, sharp and distinguishable. Use pure black to represent the engraving/cutting area, and try to avoid gradient or multi-color filling.
File format: SVG.
Vector pattern scaling lossless precision, suitable for engraving needs of different sizes, can be enlarged or reduced as needed.
2. Bitmap pattern material:
Applicable scenarios:
Complex image engraving (such as photos, gradient shadows, woodblock prints, stone surfaces, etc.).
Pattern requirements:
High resolution: The higher the resolution, the better the engraving.
For patterns with obvious grayscale changes, the laser machine controls the engraving depth/power through the grayscale value to achieve the visual effect of engraving depth.
High contrast: While enhancing the contrast between light and dark, ensure clear details and avoid large areas of similar grayscale, which may lead to dull engraving effects.
File format: PNG, BMP, JPG format.
3. Bitmap material - invert:
Invert: In laser engraving, "invert" means swapping the black and white colors of the pattern, that is, changing the black part to white and the white part to black.
This processing method is mainly used to optimize the engraving effect, especially on some special materials. The inverted pattern can better meet the process requirements of laser engraving.
Applicable scenarios: dark or light-absorbing materials such as aluminum sheets, shale, leaves, black photo paper, etc.
Pattern requirements: You need to go to APP-canvas-bottom menu-color adjustment-click [invert], and adjust [brightness] and [contrast] at the same time to make the grayscale change obvious.
4. Mixed use:
Complex designs can combine vectors (outlines) and bitmaps (grayscale images). For example, sign text + background pattern.

When you need to manage multiple objects, long press the canvas, then drag and select the multiple objects to manage them.
You can save it. After designing the pattern and confirming to save it, you can click [Canvas]-[Save]-[Save As] in the upper right corner to save the complete template. The next time you use it, click [Home]-[File]-Import the corresponding material template..
